How to open a bait shop?
I would like to open a bait shop for someone I know nothing about it. Can anyone who knows or experienced this, please help me step by step guide or as much as you can? I can just make room with about $ 600 to $ 700 per month rent. How can I get bait, fishing licenses, cheap tackles, hooks, etc.? How can I start and what are the important things you need to know to open a bait shop. Thank you
As the owner of a bait shop old in north Texas, I can say it is very difficult to implement. Depending on how big you want the store to be, you need not plenty of space for everyone. One very important thing, if you plan to sell live bait (fish, earthworms, etc.) must be kept fresh or they die before they can get a dozen sales. I had a small (12×8) room had air conditioning (window unit) for this purpose. Fishing gear in my store sold was purchased from a wholesale supplier … all the major well known brands. I do not sell fishing licenses, as there were many red ribbon at the state government pause, the cost advantage was not there, and simply makes no sense for me to sell because of the fact that there was a State Park just a mile away they sell.
