How do I care for braids?
I recently have gotten the chance to have my hair braided over the weekend, but I am still unsure on how to properly take care of them. I want them to stay strong and un-nappy for Monday (when school starts). I do know to keep them dry and use a du rag when sleeping… am I lost on anything, and can anyone tell me a bit more about caring for braids?
Well… since braids are still hair, there bound to get greasy right? Yes. And to wash them with out getting them frizzy, you wash them normally. The only difference is, is that you dry them differently. The best way is to blow dry them (unless you have plastic beads at the end because they might melt.) They will aventually get fizzy even if you do take care of them really well. To keep down the fizz, you might want to put a wax or mild gel on after a shower so loose hair wont be every where.
