A fishing for northern pike in the night?
Does anyone have a good idea or techniques for fishing northern pike at night? I that bites in and the truth is I had my first bite pike today. I was using a spinner Mepps bird, but ended up spitting the bait at the pier. After about 6 times lower stop and northern bite at a time. I bzzbait also tried the Terminator T-1 series, but I have not had much luck with that. That may be the wrong season, but at night I do not get no bites. Anyone know: 1. Techniques for Northern bites at night 2. North, out at night? Thank you!
Night fishing for pike can be tricky. Tend to remain motionless on the bottom. During the warmer months to do it in about 6-8 feet of water. You'll need something to topwater create noise for relaxation. You get them a terrible blow. Try using a hula popper or r-pop. Something I wouldnt recommend a jazz dancer buzzbait. something does not seem I use with a steady recovery. You need a lure that makes a "Bloop" and noise "Plop". Good lucky! Edit: someone gave me a thumbs down, and I think because I suggested topwater. Here is a website for you that saves my answer. The third paragraph says more or less the same in my reply. http://www.esox.co.uk/pikefishing2000/new_page_9.htm
