General College questions..?
Ok so i know abt wayne state university having a “med-start” program.. what exactly is it? what are its advantages? disadvantages?
i recently found out that michigan state has something similar to this… any help on what exactly it is? how to do it?
and does the univ of michigan ann arbor have this program? or any kind of special medical program that will save u time…?
It guarantees you admission to Wayne State’s School of Medicine. However, only 15 people get this, so it’s really competitive. There are also a bunch of requirements. See their website–http://honors.wayne.edu/medstart.php
The downside is that it’s very hard to get in to, and I THINK that you kind of have to go–so if you get like a 4.0 and do incredibly well on your MCATs etc., and you could technically could in to an Ivy League med school, you might be tied to Wayne State med school, which isn’t a top ranked med school.
Upside is that you don’t have to deal with all the pressure that accompanies getting in to med school–you’re already in.
