Carp bait?
My favorite type of fishing is for carp. What is the best bait to use for them an any tips with times, and what time of year do carp start biting in the Northeast? What is the best doughball recipe? Thanks!
I fished for carp when I was young, but in the South. Don’t know why techniques in the NE would be any different. My favorite recipe was made with chicken scratch, bran flour, and strawberry jello. Mix two parts scratch and two parts flour to one part jello. Add warm water a little at a time until mixture reaches the right consistency. When baiting your hook, put a sugar pop, (the cereal) on the hook and form the dough ball around it. Good luck. Oh, fish baiting might not be legal in your state, but if it is, put chicken scratch in a pantyhose, and throw it in an area where you want to fish. This will attract carp as well as catfish to your “favorite fishin’ hole”. I have a good recipe for carp. INGREDIENTS; ONE CARP, SALT, PEPPER, OLIVE OIL, GREEN ONIONS, AND YOUR FAVORITE BREADER. CARP IS HARD TO CLEAN, SO NAIL THE HEAD OF THE CARP TO A BOARD. SCRAPE OFF SCALES AND SKIN THE CARP. RUB THE CARP WITH OLIVE OIL, ADD THE SALT, PEPPER, GREEN ONIONS, AND COATE THE CARP WITH BREADER. THEN THROW AWAY THE CARP AND EAT THE BOARD.
Till next time….
Tight Lines!
