When life gets you down, turn on the barbeque grill!
My friend has always loved Harley southern barbecue and almost anything you can cook a barbecue. His story is one that celebrates the spirit of a man to get up when life hit him.
When I met him almost everything we talked about ideas and best barbecue grill recipes to use at a particular time of year. We also discussed the virtues of charcoal grills or electric stoves gas. He was obsessed with everything having to do with the kitchen in a smoke-hot fire.
We see from time to time and can still smell the barbecue smoke in your body and clothing, bits scented with all kinds of meat, cooked this weekend. His wife always patient threatened to become a vegetarian because quantities of BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken and pork barbecue his family have had to consume just to keep up with the passion of Harley-air cooking free.
Harley has worked in large offices and the different defense contractors in recent years developed a small barbecue catering service business where he worked. Just took his grill and provided the meat for the Memorial Day holiday, the Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays.
Over the weekend I would go through his house to see him surrounded by a halo of smoke. He always had more smokers and barbecue grills work in your backyard. It was in the first days of his passion with barbecue, before coming up with something more than cooking.
When it came time to buy a new network to be was a foreign country in Mississippi, and bought one on wheels. It is indeed a fabulous piece of craftsmanship, with a great barbecue new soldiers with a trailer big enough to contain a bass boat.
In addition to the combustion chamber 6 feet, which feeds on walnut records held in the trailer, which was welded to a smoker side. It was a quarter inch of steel and had two temperature gauges, a combustion chamber and the other on the hood of smoking.
The trailer also led to a water tank to cool the fire, if it was too hot. The entire unit is surrounded in chrome silver, that seemed a bit ostentatious, but never consulted before buying grill.
By the way, the economy has changed and people across the country were losing their jobs and livelihoods, so did Harley. After the initial shock had passed and had worn self-pity, he began to count your blessings and take stock of their assets.
Action Thanksgiving is coming, and had a list of satisfied clients from its business school. He began to call and say that this year, smoked turkey or ham instead of tired old traditional birds usually decorated the table this holiday. They also said they tell their friends and neighbors of their service.
The response was overwhelming. Harley maintains heavy smoker grill and go for three days while trying to cope with the demand for your product. Made it through Thanksgiving and Christmas did it again but this time with ribs of beef and chicken breast barbecue chicken and ribs barbecue pork with some turkeys and hams.
Downhill a street on the wrong side of the track just after Christmas, I saw wonderful barbecue machine attached to a rod Harleys for a small sign near empty restaurant. The sign on the door, said: "Harley's BBQ Restaurant, opening soon!"
It is a testament to the resilience of American workers and a tribute to the power of good Southern barbecue. I take my hat off to them both!
