Tossa De Mar – Costa Brava Resort Without the Rowdy Reputation

Tossa de Mar is a charming seaside town on the rugged coast of Catalonia – Costa Brava – unless an hour from Girona and an hour and a half north of Barcelona. Is steeped in history and dominated by a tower 12 century walled town, Vila Vella (Old Town), which fits seamlessly into the Vila Nova (new town) – a maze of narrow winding streets and dotted with boutique style shops and bars.

The flagship of the Interpretation Centre Mediterranean, opened in September 2005 by the mayor at a ceremony half proud and distinguished. The center is located at the top de la Vila Vella. The observation platforms offer spectacular views along the surprisingly wild stretch of coastline and the center itself offers an excellent tour and demonstration virtual history of the lighthouse. For those who can not manage the journey on foot the Vila Vella, a mini-bus runs every half hour.

The Municipal Museum is located in the heart of the Vila Vella and was opened on September 1, 1935. It is considered the first museum of modern art of Spain and its famous collection includes Century 19 and 20 Catalan songs, and works by local artists and international Tossa protected during the 1930's. Do not miss Marc Chagall and confusing famous violinist sky, "a painting that puzzles every viewer – are windows that open outwards – or open inwards? The museum also houses the archeological collection Dr. Ignacio Mele, Grand Prix of the city, which was initially responsible for the discovery of Roman colonization Tossa de whole game in the 20th century.

The Torre dels Moros (Moors of La Tour), once an important part of the defense of the city, gives without doubt one of the most amazing views of Tossa. It's a whole ascent on foot, but well worth it – points to see, literally, breathtaking – to be seen to be believed. From this tower, the most spectacular panoramic views are set before you: Vila Vella, the bay and the beaches of Tossa, dotted with fishing boats Mediterranean light, winding streets and Warren each other, the mountain pine crowned backdrop. You make some stops on the travel time to admire the beautiful Cala Bona with its crystalline waters planted snorklers looking bright walls inside caves, cliffs and get a photo of the summit steep pine … is an experience that combines pleasure and tranquility!

Paseo Del Mar (Passeig de Mar) is a promenade that stretches along the main beach. It is filled with bars and restaurants in some parties in the shade of leaf canopies, and is the perfect place to watch the world go, with the Vila Vella and the main beach, with a picturesque setting. Most bars along the Paseo menus offer ice cream impressive, so "sculpted" that could win a prize! Have your ice cream, sit back and watch people content your heart!
